The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform maintenance, upkeep, construction, and duties as assigned in City parks, public spaces, and structures.
This is an entry-level buildings and grounds position.
Duties are performed under the direct supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, although some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoor environment or other environment that may expose the employee to adverse weather conditions, harmful chemicals, excessive noise, or potential personal danger.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES The following list is ILLUSTRATIVE only and is not intended to be a comprehensive listing off all functions and duties performed by the incumbent of this class.
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers.
Use of light machinery or power tools such as .
Grounds, Maintenance Worker, Maintenance, Worker, Property Management, Facilities
