Great work you'll do here:

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist in accordance with the plan of care.

  • Performs all physical therapy procedures, planned and delegated, as prescribed by the physician in the client's place of residence when instructed and supervised by a qualified Physical Therapist
  • Administers non-complex therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to clients with relatively stable conditions
  • Instructs, motivates and assists clients in learning and improving functional activities
  • Observes client's progress and response to treatment and reports findings to the physical therapist
  • Prepares clinical notes and progress reports documenting physical therapy treatments performed and submits them for review to the supervising Physical Therapist for inclusion into the clinical record
  • Reports any changes in the client's condition to the qualified supervising Physical Therapist and Agency Management
  • Changes in the plan of care may be made following authorization by the client's physician and subsequent authorization, instruction and supervision by the Physical Therapist
  • Participates in case conferences, staff meetings, and in-service programs as required
  • Submits all documentation (clinical and payroll) timely and per branch policy
  • Assists with quarterly record reviews if requested
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of case management and coordination of services through open communication
  • Follows directives of Case Manager and supports the efforts of case coordination
  • Assures appropriate documentation for all.
