The Enterprise Cloud Solutions Architect will help design and develop architecture strategies for the SOUTHCOM customer's Cloud Adoption, Migration & Operationalization efforts as part of it's overall cybersecurity & IT modernization program (SCITES).
The Cloud Architect will provide leadership, subject matter expertise, and deliverables in/around Cloud 'strategy(ies)', Cloud 'architectures', Cloud 'best practice (people, process & technology)', Cloud 'operating/economic models', and Cloud 'cybersecurity, compliance, and risk mitigation in a DoD environment.'
These activities & efforts will be in parallel to others ongoing which are enabling Zero Trust Architecture Strategy & Deployment, a Transition to IPv6, Technical Debt Reduction, Normalization of the Terrain, and other significant 'strategic & tactical change programs' across the SOUTHCOM organizations, Area of Responsibility (AOR), its Component Commands, Task Forces and diverse array of environments and networks.
Duties & Qualifications
15+ years experience of large-scale Enterprise Cloud Architecture, Design, and Mobilization within a DoD/Military or other State or Federal government environment.
Refine and implement the enterprise cloud strategy, migration approaches, and operating models that align with customer and the Department of Defense (DOD) vision & mission objectives.
Including but not limited to 'multi-cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, DISA, Other)', 'hybrid cloud-on-prem (environments & networking platforms)', 'Impact Levels IL2, IL5, IL4, & IL6',
Design and implement the enterprise cloud management office (CMO), including but not limited to Policies, Budgets, Standards, Governance, Innovation Initiatives, Cloud COE, Brokering, and Shared Services.
Design / Implement / Operationalize cloud Identity Management & Governance framework in accordance with DoD, DISA E-ICAM, and SOUTHCOM guidelines, including access control(s), gateway management, etc.
leveraging Zero Trust Architecture Security principles for all cloud-based DAAS (Data, Applications, Assets and Services).
Internal "Coordination and Collaboration" with SCITES, SOUTHCOM, GDIT, GDIT sub-contractors, work center teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth implementation and adoption of the SOUTHCOM enterprise cloud capabilities.
External "Coordination and Collaboration" with other DoD commands &/or teams (CENTCOM, INDOPACOM, DISA, Mission Partners, etc.), stakeholders, GDIT Partners, and vendors for the smooth implementation and adoption of the SOUTHCOM enterprise cloud capabilities.
Industry Certifications should include one or more of the following:
Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, Azure DevSecOps, Etc.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect
CompTIA Cloud+
VMware Cloud Certification
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in information systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
Experience with FedRAMP, GOVCloud, etc.
Experience with DoD Cloud Authorization Processes
DoD/Military or other State or Federal government, or Aerospace & Defense Commercial Business Experience
Familiarity with NIST Cloud Reference Architecture
Familiarity with DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture
Familiarity with DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture
