MDS Clinical Reviewer (LPN Licensure Required)
Responsibilities:
Reviewing patient medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Collaborating with healthcare providers to clarify and obtain missing or incomplete documentation.
Identifying and resolving documentation discrepancies or inconsistencies.
Educating healthcare providers on proper documentation practices and coding guidelines.
Conducting regular audits to assess the quality and integrity of medical records.
Analyzing data and generating reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Staying updated on industry regulations and best practices related to clinical documentation.
Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and documentation needs.
Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of electronic health record systems.
Ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Other duties as assigned by Unit Manager, Director of Nursing and Administrator.
Overall, a MDS Clinical Reviewer (LPN Licensure Required) plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate and comprehensive medical records, which are essential for effective patient care, billing, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently or part of a group.
Computer knowledge.
Previous long term care experience is preferred but not required.
License:
(LPN) Licensed Pracitcal Nurse Licensure in this state
