Software Engineer Java

Description:
This Senior level position is responsible for analyzing, designing and developing software solutions to complex logistics applications problems. Will perform systems integration functions and interact with client staff and to some extent field operations for requirements analysis and systems testing.

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Major contributor to the design, development, and testing of software applications
• Participate in the decomposition of customer requirements into functional tasks and user stories
• Participate in the development of test documentation
• Support field testing and analysis at various Marine Corps locations such as San Diego and North Carolina
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Maintain competence through self-education of emerging technologies
Requirement:
Seeking software engineers with a proven track record for Java/Spring and web development to work out of Springfield, VA office. The position requires that the candidates mesh well with a small agile development team, where he or she will design, maintain and test software applications. At a minimum, the candidate will demonstrate a solid grasp of Java programming, Spring MVC development, and user interface design.

Qualified candidates will be able to telecommute from home when appropriate.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (Substitute 8 years related experience for a related technical degree)
• 8+ years relevant work experience
• Experience developing JavaScript or J2EE Web-based applications
• Experience with a Java development framework
• Experience with scripting languages, such as JSP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience in object-oriented software development
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S Government Secret clearance is REQUIRED
