Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation:
Design and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Ensure network architecture meets organizational requirements and industry standards. - Network Security:
Implement security measures to protect network infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access. Configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality. - Network Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor network performance and traffic patterns to identify and address bottlenecks, latency issues, and other performance issues. Optimize network settings and configurations for maximum efficiency. - Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide technical support to end-users and IT teams for network-related issues. Troubleshoot connectivity problems, DNS issues, and other network-related problems to minimize downtime. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and capacity planning. - Vendor Management:
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure network equipment, software, and services. Evaluate vendor proposals and solutions to ensure they meet organizational requirements. - Training and Knowledge Sharing:
Provide training and guidance to IT staff and end-users on network-related topics and best practices. Share knowledge and expertise to build a strong network infrastructure team.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in network administration or a related role.
- Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and software (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios, SolarWinds).
- Familiarity with routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
