What you'll do
As a Billing Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing of our customer accounts.
Critical components of this job include sales contract review for billing and revenue implications, contract entry into the billing system, and invoice creation and analysis.
A strong foundation and experience in working with billing or financial systems is essential.
In addition, this position will require great attention to detail and the ability to deliver results under deadlines.
This role works as a member of the Accounting team, and collaborates closely with Sales, Revenue, and the wider Accounts Receivable team.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Billing Supervisor.
ResponsibilityReview contracts and ensure customers are properly set up and invoiced in the billing systemEnsure that billing is set up to meet Revenue Recognition and other Accounting PoliciesAddress and handle non-standard, complex billing, specifically including Professional Services billingWork across departments to research and resolve escalated customer disputes and exceptions on billingsDrive process improvements including working with business partners and other departmentsWork with other departments on the development and implementation of improvements to billing and accounting systemsSupport audit requirements on a quarterly basisPerform special projects as requested

What you bring
BasicBachelor s degree or Accounting qualifications4+ years of broad experience within accounting and billing environmentPreferred2+ years of broad experience within accounting and billing environment at a software company or in a subscription billing environmentPC proficientAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic settingAbility to work in multiple systems and quickly move from one system to anotherExperience with Oracle or other large ERP systemsStrong experience with Microsoft Excel and WordUnderstanding of GAAP and Audit concepts and requirementsInterest and aptitude to work with high volume of data processingAbility to function independently as well as with a team effectivelyWell-developed problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to discern alternatives and make objective recommendationsAbility to effectively work with other business groups to accomplish goalsExcellent communication skills in dealing with internal and external customersOral and written communication skills to interact with upper levels of management
Wage Transparency
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California:
$31.44/hour - $44.74/hourIllinois and Colorado:
$28.99/hour - $37.72/hourWashington and New York (including NYC metro area):
$28.99/hour - $40.89/hourThis role is also eligible for bonus and
