Broad Function: MPS Elementary Math Interventionists, reporting to the Building Principal, and working in conjunction with classroom teachers, will provide support and implement math curriculum support to and for students K-5, personalized learning, utilize artificial intelligence softwares and virtual learning with students in grades K-5 regarding math

Reports to: Elementary Building Principals
Broad Function: MPS Elementary Math Interventionists, reporting to the Building Principal, and working in conjunction with classroom teachers, will provide support and implement math curriculum support to and for students K-5, personalized learning, utilize artificial intelligence softwares and virtual learning with students in grades K-5 regarding math
Responsibilities:
- Provides high quality instruction to individual students and small groups
- Uses real-time data provided by online platform to target instruction
- Uses data to provide instruction to students and bring their math skills to grade level
- Uses identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needs
- Maintains data based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
- Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress
- Participates in meetings with teachers, administration and families regarding student progress
- Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed
- Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems
- Attends appropriate training to improve knowledge and skills
- Collects and analyzes student data as it relates to math learning
- Communicates student progress to his/her classroom teacher, building principal, building teams and curriculum leadership as needed
- Provides insights to parents/guardians regularly throughout math intervention
- Performs other K-5 math support duties as assigned by the building principal or building EIST
- CT Elementary Teaching Certification Strongly Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Instructional proficiency in math preferred
- Potential experience with math instruction preferred or open to training through district
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage students in learning activities and potential distance learning to achieve math skill growth
- Knowledge and experience with the Connecticut Core Standards in Math, and differentiated instructional teaching strategies preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to apply instructional strategies on differentiated instruction
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to collect data and make recommendations for student programs
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with school administrators, staff, students and families
