Implements and maintains Rayburn Electric Cooperative, Inc.'s (Rayburn) overall physical and virtual network infrastructure. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of various system technologies essential for Rayburn's operations. These networking technologies include but are not limited to firewalls, IDS\IPS, switches, routers, wireless, MPLS, VPN, LANs, WANs, VLANs, Microsoft Azure, VoIP infrastructure, microwave radios, and the physical and logical network components that integrate these systems.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge
Implements and maintains scalable, robust, and secure network infrastructures that align with business objectives, incorporating best practices for system resilience, redundancy, and future scalability.
Manages multiple priorities and works effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Installs, configures, and maintains physical and virtual networking applications.
Performs day-to-day tasks within the network infrastructure environment to ensure reliability and availability.
Ensures high system availability and reliability through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
Assists in implementing robust disaster recovery strategies, actively participates in cybersecurity incident response and disaster recovery incidents, demonstrating knowledge in mitigating risks and restoring the network to operational status.
Mentors Rayburn IT Network Technicians in accordance with Rayburn's core values.
Assists with maintenance of patch management processes and upgrades of firewalls, routers, switches, microwave, IDS\IPS and SCADA.
Assists in implementing, and maintaining cyber security best practices for network systems, user accounts, and data storage, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive Rayburn information.
Participates in regulatory audits, spot-checks, and self-certifications including mock audits.
Assists with the review, evaluation and root cause identification of deficiencies and assists with implementing and maintaining mitigation plans with corrective actions.
Maintains a working knowledge of cybersecurity methods and IT systems.
Assists with implementing, and maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Assists Rayburn personnel and Board Members with various device/software issues as needed.
Drives Rayburn vehicle to remote sites to configure, install, and maintain communications infrastructure; that may involve exposure to live electrical hazards and inclement weather conditions.
Maintains Rayburn's physical security across all campuses and remote field facilities including but not limited to physical security systems, monitoring, alarm response, access control, and security cameras.
Subject to on call after normal business hours as business needs dictate.

Timely shares complete information with others including Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties, as required.
Works closely with Rayburn's IT Teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient operation of network systems and infrastructure.
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management.
Acts as a liaison between IT and other business departments.
Job Related Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer related field is preferred.
Experience:
2+ years of experience with Cisco LAN/WAN/Wireless networks, Palo Alto, Aviat Microwave Systems is preferred.
Certifications:
Aviat ANA, Aviat ACOS, Aviat ACI, SoftwareHouse Integrator, SoftwareHouse Advanced Integrator, SoftwareHouse Everrun, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+
Skills:
• Proficient with various software programs

Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer workstation.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions in order to use a computer keyboard, test equipment and operate hand tools.
• Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, ability to distinguish between colors, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; open file cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
• May be asked to climb as a part of field related duties.
