Description

SUMMARY:

ProFarm Group (PFG) is a subsidiary of Bioceres Crop Solutions, a global provider of biologically derived fertilizers, inoculants, crop traits, adjuvants, biostimulants and pesticides, serving the ever-expanding agricultural markets. PFG focuses on discovering, developing, and marketing nature-derived biostimulants, as well as pest management products from microbes and plant extracts for the effective control of invertebrate pests, weeds, and plant diseases.

The purpose of this position is to coordinate shipments of samples to collaborators and demo products to customers. Receiving, purchasing and management of inventory for key lab supplies. The assistant interacts with logistics organizations and PFG functions such as sales, R&D, field development, manufacturing, quality control, and accounting. The assistant also provides support in some administrative functions for the main PFG office in Davis, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Purchasing:
Create and maintain lab and shipping supplies material master for tracking of inventory in SAP.
Create PO req's in SAP for the purchase of lab and shipping supplies as needed.
Support Senior Manager of Planning, Inventory and Logistics in creation of PO's req's for warehouse storage and 3rd party manufacturing.
Receiving: Receive and distribute all inbound materials in a timely matter.
Properly and accurately count materials received.
Confirm and record the receipt of shipments.
Complete receiving of purchase orders in SAP.
Work with accounting on receiving documentation, report damages/returns and discrepancies to accounting.
Support international receiving of materials.
Shipping: Ship and track sample orders to locations worldwide.
Create international shipping documents.
Generate acknowledgment notifications to internal customers.
Update and send weekly sample request report to appropriate groups.
Create and update monthly shipping KPI's to monitor areas for cost and process improvements.
Administrative Activities: Support the administrative function at PFG with preparation for events, and other activities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Support management on special projects.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 1-2 years of shipping, receiving, or administrative work experience preferred.
Interest or background in science or biology preferred.
Computer skills - proficient in Excel, and Power Point.
Good typing, spelling, and grammar skills are necessary.
In addition, the individual should: Be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
Possess strong communication skills: oral, written, email and phone.
Have high attention to detail.
Be able to demonstrate strong computer skills, including excel and word.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIRMENTS:

PHYSICAL: Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to use computer keyboard, mouse and monitor extensively.
Ability to lift 50 lbs unaided.
Ability to walk, bend, stoop kneel, twist, turn and use/walk up ladders when required.
Ability to push, pull and lift various sized boxes.
Ability to drive on company business when necessary.
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
MENTAL: Ability to proficiently use Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other computer software as required.
Ability to effectively communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking, in person, as well as, by computer or phone).
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in workload priorities, ability to prioritize tasks, ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain a high attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities.
