The primary function of the Branch Manager is to direct all branch activities and personnel to ensure that the business objectives for the branch are achieved efficiently and cost-effectively. The principal branch activities are sales, and operations. The manager must be effective in coordinating all these activities such that the customers are served by a seamless and transparent operation. The Branch Manager is accountable for branch sales, gross profit, contribution margin objectives, controlling expenses, and asset management.

Tasks:
- Oversee the transportation of goods from site to customer
- Review purchase orders for approval
- Ensure inventory maintains optimal levels
- Ensure all DOT regulations and reporting procedures are followed
- Ensure work force is flexible and can respond to variations in workflow
- Plan daily operations and manpower/equipment needs and ensure timely plan execution
- Enforce the safety and security policies, to ensure a safe work environment and limit shrinkage
- Conduct quality checks and audits of processes; recommend and implement changes to maximize productivity
- Supervise the proper housekeeping and maintenance of the facility and equipment
- Coaching, counsel and discipline associates to hold them accountable for their performance
- Troubleshoot with internal cross functional teams to increase customer satisfaction.
- Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop relationships with new customers
- Cold calling will be required
- Oversee daily loading and yard schedule
- Schedule staffing to meet the changing daily business needs
- Promote a continuous improvement culture through communication and coaching employees as well as finding opportunities for streamlining production activities and enhancing value-added processes
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Experience with a similar workforce is preferred
- A bachelor's degree and/or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
- Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Operations Analysis - Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design
- Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Technology Design - Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs
- Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
Other Skills:
- Management of Financial Resources - Determining how money will be spent to get the work done, and accounting for these expenditures
- Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work
- Time Management - Managing one's own time
