Job Briefing:
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for our power telecommunications company. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods, services, and equipment required for our operations. Conduct research and market analysis to identify potential suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and other relevant factors.
Negotiate and establish favorable terms and conditions for procurement contracts and agreements.
Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Monitor and track order status, delivery schedules, and supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Resolve issues or discrepancies with suppliers, such as late deliveries, quality concerns, or invoicing discrepancies.
Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, vendor contracts, and pricing agreements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers, engineers, and finance teams, to understand procurement requirements and specifications.
Provide procurement advice, guidance, and support to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
Participate in the evaluation and selection of suppliers through vendor assessments, bid evaluations, and supplier performance reviews.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant field or professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
Experience:
Minimum: 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
Preferred: 4+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles within the power telecommunications or related industries.
Experience in the Same Position:
Minimum: 1 year of experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar procurement role.
Preferred: 3+ years of experience in procurement, including experience in sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
Language Proficiency:
Minimum: Fluent in written and spoken English.
Preferred: Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the local business environment.
Technical Competencies:
Knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
Familiarity with supply chain management processes, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract management.
Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.
Understanding of vendor management and supplier relationship management.
