Work/life balance
About us:
Innes Dean is one of the oldest law firms in the Manawatū, offering legal services in various areas of law, including commercial, property, trusts and estates, relationship property, employment, rural and elder law. However, there is nothing stodgy about us. We boast beautiful light-filled premises with plenty of greenery. We seek out collaborative-minded team members who are passionate about delivering high quality services to our clients but also supporting each other.
We are committed to embracing the future of legal practice within our firm, making use of technology and embracing AI. We are also committed to supporting growth outside our firm in our region, by cultivating significant and on-going sponsorship relationships with Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre, Netball Manawatū, Women & Business and Manawatū Youth Theatre.
About you:
We are seeking a future-focused Solicitor to join our team who shares our above values. We offer a friendly and collaborative environment and promote career advancement and work-life balance.
You will be the ideal candidate if you are an energetic and experienced generalist lawyer with at least two years' post-qualification experience, ideally having had exposure to Family law (particularly applications under the PPPR Act and division of Relationship Property), Employment Law, Elder Law issues (EPOA's, Estate & Succession Planning & Will drafting), Trusts administration, Conveyancing and Commercial matters.
You will also:
Have a strong academic record;
Have a strong work ethic;
Have thorough procedural knowledge and have handled files as part of a team and individually across the above areas of law;
Be able to demonstrate a pro-active work ethic, a high professional standard, clear communication and you will be looking for a practice of equally motivated, client-focused colleagues;
Be interested in contributing to our local community;
Be a self-starter with proven initiative, common sense and enthusiasm;
Be able to keep calm under pressure, be very organised with excellent time management skills; and
Be a team player with strong collaboration skills.
Our commitments:
As a practice we are committed to growing and investing in our teams. You will be given ample opportunity to demonstrate your expertise, develop your skills, and learn from the Directors and other senior colleagues. You will be well supported and you will have a progression program that rewards your achievements. We will ensure you are given room to grow and you will be supported in developing your client base and personal reputation as a capable, trusted and reliable Solicitor in our region.
Our firm offers perks such as birthday leave and extra leave following Easter. We also offer a competitive salary package that is regularly reviewed alongside your development with additional wellness and other benefits.
You will also enjoy all the benefits of living in the Manawatū, including; friendly communities, everything for an outdoors lover, breathtaking beautiful parks, rivers and mountain ranges that sweep out to the rugged west coast beaches. We are centrally located close to Wellington, an easy drive to the North Island ski fields, Hawkes Bay wineries and Mount Taranaki. You will also enjoy cost-effective housing options, a vibrant arts scene and spend very little time trapped in traffic.
How to apply:
If you fulfill the above requirements and are looking for a great opportunity in the Manawatū region we would love to hear from you. If you are keen to hear more about this opportunity, please contact Damian Hanna on 021689916 or email your CV to damian@inside.co.nz.
