About The Role
We now have a fantastic opportunity for highly motivated and driven individual to join Finance Team in Walsall as an Internal Controls Manager on a permanent basis.
This role will be delivered on a flexible hybrid model of working three days from home and two days at our Bescot office.
We are seeking someone to spearhead the implementation of an enhanced control environment across the RAC group, working collaboratively across the Group and Divisional finance teams.
The Internal Controls Manager will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and ultimately ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and ongoing regulatory and governance changes.

The Internal Controls Manager will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and ultimately ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and ongoing regulatory and governance changes.
What What You'll Do.
- Map end-to-end key financial processes, clearly documenting the activities currently being undertaken, the risks and associated controls
- Design and implement controls to mitigate risks where they do not already exist, and where they do exist, improve the documentation and evidence of the controls in operation working collaborating with each Division to drive an improved control environment
- Share best practice across Divisions and foster a culture of continuous improvement and ongoing compliance
- Identify control deficiencies and working with the Divisional Finance leads, create improvements plans to remedy
- Develop an internal assurance / attestation plan to ensure ongoing monitoring and maintenance and to provide Executive and Board comfort on the ongoing effectiveness of the control environment
- Monitor regulatory and governance changes, alongside industry best practice and adapt internal controls accordingly
- Liaise with other RAC departments (Risk Management, Technology) to ensure an "all business" rather than purely financial focus on ongoing regulatory and governance changes.
- Work closely with external auditors as part of their controls testing, supporting with the provision of evidence and agreement on recommendations.
- Relevant professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Extensive experience in financial controls management, internal audit, or related roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and corporate governance standards (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO framework).
- Track record of leading change initiatives, driving process improvements, and implementing control enhancements in a complex organizational environment.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) highly desirable
