Popcorn Shed is in its eighth year of trading and experiencing rapid growth having secured wholesale listings with a number of leading wholesalers and retailers as well as a burgeoning online direct to consumer business.
About the role: We require a talented individual to process wholesale orders and run our day-to-day business operations.
We are looking for an organised, hardworking and determined person with great attention to detail, initiative and good interpersonal skills who can take ownership of this position.
This is a fast-paced role, working directly with the Commercial Director.
This is a multi-faceted role covering wholesale order processing, stock control, logistics, financial processing and credit control.
Wholesale Order Processing & Warehousing
- Act as the main point of contact between the business and its suppliers;
- Process wholesale orders on the company's inventory management system (Unleashed);
- Liaise with suppliers to check production capacity and order lead times, and troubleshoot any logistics issues;
- Act as main point of contact and build relationship with third party warehouse;
Supplier Management, & Stock Control
- Manage stock forecasting and place purchase orders;
- Management & implementation of bi-annual stock takes;
- Identification, control & management of all slow selling or short dated stock;
- Management of stock transfers between warehouses;
- Dealing with exceptional customer service enquiries relating to order issues.
Finance
- Overall responsibility for processing supplier invoices, including querying & processing bill payments & credit notes;
- Preparation and filing of monthly iOSS returns for European markets;
- Setting expense policy & processing expense forms.
Credit Control
- Overall management of the debtor book, taking appropriate action against debtors;
- Credit check new customers.
Person Description
You should have prior operations experience. Experience with sales order processing and/or working with inventory management software is preferred but not essential.
Accounting software experience working on Xero or similar software is preferred but not essential.
You will have experience in operations in the retail/wholesale sector, be numerate and have a working knowledge of supply chain networks.
You'll be proficient in IT, with a proven track record in learning new software. Ideally, you'll have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Drive software (Docs, Sheets and Slides). We are looking for an individual that is practical and hands on, and able to learn new software quickly.
- Good interpersonal skills and telephone manner are essential.
- Excellent writing & verbal communication skills.
- Fantastic attention to detail but ability to zoom out to think strategically.
- Well-organized self-starter who can multi-task, take the reins and take ownership over this part of the business.
- A 'can do' attitude who is excited to be in a fast-paced start-up and help build the culture of the Popcorn Shed team.
- A problem solver, who is resourceful and can take ownership over finding solutions to issues as and when they arise.
- You should live within 45 minutes' commuting time of Finchley Central, N3.
Salary: £28K - £32K dependent on experience + discretionary bonus
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm
Based: Finchley Central, London, N3
