Health and Safety Advisor - Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Toronto, Hybrid (to be considered)
SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.
Description of Responsibilities:
Monitor the effectiveness of implementation, use, and continual improvement initiatives of Health and Safety (H&S) standards and programs throughout SRK North America.
Ensure all business units have access to the resources necessary to implement H&S standards.
Foster an environment of collaboration and active participation in H&S where employees understand and identify risks to make the best decisions.
Maintain and update written H&S plans and supporting documents.
Maintain accurate and complete records that meet regulatory requirements.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
Manage H&S training programs, including new hire orientation.
Develop strategies in conjunction with Legal and Human Resources to ensure compliance with all H&S regulations in Canada and the U.S.
Monitor regulatory developments in H&S for new and/or revised compliance obligations.
Responsible for Health and Safety data management including trend analysis for assigned sites.
Promote H&S awareness through internal company communications.
Essential Requirements:
5 - 10 years of experience in a H&S management or advisory role.
CRSP or CSP designation.
Knowledge and understanding of safety management system design, implementation, and auditing principles.
Experience working in technical consulting, mining, engineering, and / or major EPC / EPCM.
Ability to understand and interpret relevant HSE legislation and standards to assess their potential impact on projects and business activities.
