The Financial Services Advisor, reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Services, is responsible for ensuring that various analysis tasks and report production are performed accurately and in on time.
These tasks include meetings with member pharmacists for the presentation of financial statements and performance indicators, preparation of financial projections (pro forma), production of establishment budgets, monitoring the financial situation of pharmacies, and production of various financial reports.
Additionally, they will identify opportunities for member pharmacists to optimize their operation and profitability.
The advisor will also have frequent contact with bank managers, external accountants, the business development department, the credit department, and various other internal business units.
The advisor must demonstrate great rigor and maintain constant follow-up in their files as they will be the key point of contact for the pharmacies financial records.
Specific Responsibilities
Meet with pharmacists on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, as appropriate, for the presentation of financial statements and performance indicators.
Verify monthly financial statements produced internally and in pharmacies to ensure accuracy and provide improvement suggestions to accounting technicians.
Prepare pro formas required by financial institutions, member pharmacists, or the business development team, and respond to related questions and requests for both transactions and refinancing
Analyze the financial health and growth of pharmacies and produce analysis tables as needed.
Provide support, assistance, and training to accounting staff in establishments (complete accounting cycle).
Provide support and act as an advisor to member pharmacists regarding cash management, understanding financial statements, monitoring and achieving performance indicators, and any other requests.
Participate in head office projects that have an impact on the financial situation of pharmacies.
Contribute to the development or improvement of financial procedures and tools as part of a continuous improvement process.
Propose action plans, in collaboration with the operations team, to ensure the profitability of pharmacies.
Evaluate results and take appropriate measures to improve performance.
Maintain appropriate communication with all levels of the organization.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar position
Experience in an accounting firm (an asset)
Experience with the complete accounting cycle
Excellent mastery of Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent judgment
Autonomy and organizational skills, ability to take initiatives and protect the confidentiality of information
Professional attitude and customer-focused approach
Ability to work well in a team with deadlines and under pressure when necessary
Valid driver's license and availability for travel
Excellent written and oral communication skills in French, functional English (bilingualism an asset).
The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States.
Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.
