Labourers at On Side are important team members who, help rebuild and restore damaged personal and commercial property, anywhere and anytime disaster strikes. Labourers are the MVP of the restoration teams. Willing to learn, love being taught and full of ambition the Labourer knows they're going places in life and this is the first stop on the way to success!
What you bring…
Labourers bring a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a 'get it done!' attitude. Additional abilities required include:
Experience and desire to do physical work
Understanding and experience using hand and power tools
Curious nature, always want to know how things happen
Strong people, teamwork and communication skills
Attention to detail, ability to follow directions
A safety mindset
Valid driver's licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
Ability to communicate in English
What you will be doing and learning….
Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
Framing
Drywalling, mudding, sanding and finishing
Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim, landscapes, and portraiture not included)
Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
Insulation and vapour barrier installation
Being awesome, in general!
Doors
Trim, moldings, and baseboards
Cabinetry
Other stuff that'll help you be successful but isn't mandatory:
Experienced in construction, particularly demolition
WHMIS
First Aid
Of Note
Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Both major weather disasters and minor accidents involving water, fire, and more happen every day, and in our industry this is how we keep busy, restoring properties 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Mother Nature usually doesn't wait for an invitation, but we're in the business of dealing with party crashers, and we've done it for over 40 years!
We have branches from Victoria, BC to St. John's, Newfoundland and (almost) everywhere in between.
