Senior Architect Transit Architecture

Architecture49 is seeking a Senior Architect/Project Manager - Transit Architecture with experience in delivering complex projects from start to finish.  The successful candidate will have experience leading and managing teams on large complex projects, and a holistic understanding of the design process in the transit realm.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team in producing architectural design solutions and construction drawings for vertical structures and facilities.
• Manage a large group of architectural staff, leading project meetings, and coordinating all other building disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Perform internal reviews and quality checks of the models and drawings to ensure compliance with CAD/ BIM standards, transit standards and guidelines, and PSOS.
• Research materials, products and technologies required for the design and incorporate into the details, specification and other documents.

Qualifications

• Hold an architectural studies degree or other applicable higher education qualifications.
• 6+ years experience delivering BIM projects using authoring tools such as Revit, C3D, OpenBuildings Designer and CDE platforms such as ProjectWise, BIM360 or ACC
• Experience working with North American design requirements, regulations, and climate.
• Sound knowledge of Transit design principles and method, including design, specifications, construction and contract administration.
• Knowledge of Municipal and provincial planning and zoning requirements and processes.
• Familiarity with both Provincial and National related standards, codes and their application to transit facilities.
• Understanding of Heritage Architecture aspects pertaining to transit projects.
