We are currently searching for motivated and qualified candidates to fill a TMPD Event Coordinator position.

ABOUT US
As part of the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management (Framework Agreement), the Lands Advisory Board (LAB) and the First Nations Land Management Resource Centre (RC) provide political and technical support to developmental and operational First Nations. The developmental process under the Framework Agreement consists of a series of activities including the drafting of community land codes, implementing communication strategies and community voting procedures, as well as finalizing Individual Agreements with Canada. Once a First Nation ratifies its Land Code and becomes operational, the LAB and RC provide various support services such as assisting/advising with drafting land laws, rules, procedures, and instruments, as well as implementing land governance systems and facilitating agreements and other arrangements with municipal, provincial, federal or First Nation governments.
ABOUT THE POSITION
A member of the Training, Mentorship and Professional Development (TMPD) team, the TMPD Event Coordinator supports the TMPD Manager with the delivery of the TMPD strategy by overseeing the coordination of all training events and ensuring seamless execution and fostering engagement.
The following is an overview of the key responsibilities for this position but may not be all-inclusive.
- Event Logistics: Coordinate all logistical aspects of training events, encompassing venue selection, equipment setup, room layout, catering, and transportation arrangements. Additionally, ensure timely ordering, collation, and delivery of training reference materials (both electronic and printed) for each event.
- Communication Coordination: Oversee invitations, promotional materials, and communication with attendees, speakers, and moderators to facilitate effective event coordination and engagement.
- Oversight & Troubleshooting: Oversee events, directing contractors, troubleshooting issues, organizing communications, and liaising with third-party providers during events to maintain seamless operations.
- Event Registration: Oversee registration processes for TMPD events, maintaining accurate contact information for RC staff, First Nation representatives, and participants. This ensures proper record-keeping and enables effective information dissemination before, during, and after events.
- Reporting and Support: Assist in developing and generating reports and statistics as needed to evaluate event effectiveness and ensure compliance with FA obligations. Provide support for data analysis and reporting tasks.
- Any other related duties in keeping with the LAB, RC and FNs' responsibilities in implementing the FA.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for the position identified above, or for future consideration, please demonstrate how you meet the following essential criteria:
- Post-secondary education, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- Experience working with First nations.
- Significant experience in the planning and coordination of events.
- Experience in the development and delivery of training activities, including knowledge and related material delivery.

- Familiarity with the operational requirements of the Framework Agreement on First Nation Lands Management.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture.
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.

- Proficiency with software programs such as Adobe Suite, Microsoft office.
- Proficiency with online meeting software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for a variety of audiences.
