Beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year, Norwood has an opening for an experienced, creative, and engaging Latin instructor to teach part-time in the Middle School (grades 5-8).
Successful candidates will approach lessons with a command of technological resources, strong understanding of this unique developmental stage, and how to teach and design lessons that integrate ACTFL world-readiness standards through which students develop linguistic proficiency and cultural competence.
Ideal candidates will have a passion for learning, will inspire an appreciation for Latin, and work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and across other disciplines.
Applicants for the middle school Latin position must have at least three years of experience working with students in fifth through eighth grades.
Strong applicants will have a demonstrated commitment to anti-bias education with a child-centered pedagogy.
Additional qualifications include excellent communication skills, flexibility, sense of humor, and a love for working with children.
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
