POSITION sUMMARY

Reporting to the Dean, School of Contemporary Teaching & Learning (SCTL), the Educational Developer - AI & Immersive Technologies will contribute to a culture of Academic Excellence by designing and implementing professional learning initiatives that enhance contemporary teaching practices at St.
Lawrence College.
These initiatives will require the incumbent to utilize evidence-based practices, pedagogical/andragogical research, and emerging learning technologies to guide the creation of custom training solutions for Faculty/Staff on all three campuses.

In this role, the incumbent will work with a multidisciplinary team of teaching/learning experts to create annual training and development initiatives and opportunities, just-in-time training and will assist the Dean in providing support to Faculty participants to ensure program completion, as well as develop teaching and learning resources.
The incumbent will also contribute their expertise to internally/externally funded SCTL projects that relate to educational development and will participate in regular service improvement processes within the academic school.

In addition to the regular duties associated within the domain of Educational Development, the incumbent will also be responsible for supporting the integration of Artificial Intelligence (Ai) and Extended Realities (XR) tools within contemporary teaching practices.
This work will require collaborating with other members of SCTL to create Ai tools/resources, virtual reality assets, and develop an implementation strategy that enables faculty to innovate their teaching practice using immersive technologies.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a Master's Degree in Education Technology (or closely related field) with experience in integrating artificial intelligence tools and extended reality learning experiences in teaching practice.

A minimum of 5 years work experience conducting or supporting the adoption of digital learning tools within teaching/training context.
A minimum of 3 years teaching or facilitating instruction.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Work experience teaching, researching, designing, delivering, evaluating and refining Educational Development programs, services and resources in a post-secondary teaching and learning environment.
  • Experience teaching across multiple modalities (e.g., Face-to-Face, hybrid, online).
  • Experience working in digital learning environments that utilize learning management systems, video conference applications, and digital resource creation tasks (e.g., slideshow, video recordings, etc.)
  • Ability to utilize a learning management systems (LMS) and video conferencing applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc).
  • Ability to produce quality written documentation and to present orally in a manner that is effective to a wide range of audiences.

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location and work temporarily from a remote location with reliable internet access, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college's Telework Policy.

Salary & Terms
  • Admin Group:
    Pay Band 10:
    $83,443 - $104,303 per annum, commensurate on education and experience.
    In addition to the salary, the position is eligible for pay for performance .
