Qualifications:

Essential:

Experience in legal or office administration
Ability to maintain accuracy and high attention to detail.
Discretion and proven ability to protect sensitive information
Ability to work independently and show initiative.
Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to interpret legislation, court rules, legal documents and policy
Interpersonal skills that contribute to a respectful workplace and value diversity; including the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff at all levels of government as well as the public
File management experience including gathering and compiling information through conducting research and contacting all relevant parties
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet extremely tight deadlines
Experience and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Adobe or equivalent software
Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting, proofreading and formatting various types of correspondence and submissions
Excellent verbal communication skills
Stress management skills, resilience and ability to maintain a high level of performance under pressure

Desired:
Graduation from a recognized legal assistant training program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience providing administrative support in a police, court, prosecution or criminal justice environment
Duties:

The Assistant to Senior Management, Prosecutions (SMP) is responsible for providing senior administrative support to the executive of the Manitoba Prosecution Service. The Assistant provides core services in relation to the operation of the Manitoba Prosecution Service and its interaction with internal, external and political stakeholders. The Assistant handles public inquiries, stakeholder relations and plays a critical role in the organization, record keeping and functioning of the senior management team, providing support for financial, policy and legal decision making.
