The Opportunity:
Perkins Eastman has an immediate need for Designer II for our Vancouver, BC, office.
We are seeking dedicated, passionate team members with strong individual design and problem-solving skills for immediate opportunities as a design team member.
This position requires the candidates to support project team leaders in all phases of the project.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Project Manager and/or Project Architect responsible for the individual project, the Designer II will be responsible for assisting in Master Planning, Site Planning and Building Design utilizing 3D Modeling.
- Prepare programs, schematic concepts, and project layouts in 3D using Revit or other 3D modeling software for client review/approval.
- Produce presentations suitable for the Perkins Eastman team and clients.
- Assist with preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing for contractors.
- Review building codes to ensure the design complies with the minimum legal standards.
- Review funding source requirements to confirm the design complies
- Assist in product research and the preparation of project specifications.
- Assist in coordinating with consultants.
- Assist in the construction administration phase.
- Prepare finished material sample boards, physical models, and graphic presentations for client approval.
- Assist the design team on projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through Construction Documents.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience.
BC licensure preferred. - Familiarity with the BC building code; understanding of the Metro Vancouver built environment and municipal approvals preferred.
- Ability to develop, communicate, and present design concepts to their team.
- Strong communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously on schedule.
- Proficiency with Revit and Sketch-Up required.
Rhino, other related design software, and graphic software (e.g., Affinity suite) preferred. - LEED accreditation preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in multifamily housing (affordable housing preferred) and conventional wood-frame construction; experience with non-combustible construction preferred.
- Eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia.

Salary:
65k to 85k CAD
