The Opportunity
Responsible for welding and fabricating various heavy equipment (Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Feller Bunchers, skidders, Cranes, Forklifts, and other machinery/ machinery components.
The Role
Weld and fabricate a variety of heavy equipment (e.g., cranes and forklifts) and machinery components.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
Perform welding repairs on equipment, as necessary.
Fabricates brackets, mounts, and piping.
Welds and repairs customer units as required.
Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
Cleans and performs minor repairs on welding equipment.
Participate in all required Health & Safety Training.
Comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
Performance of daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace.
Comply with Wajax policies and procedures.
Meet requirements of Job Hazard assessments.
Maintain all required certifications.
Hydraulic and mechanical experience an asset
The Candidate
Education: Welding Technician Certification, certified with Canadian Welders Bureau
Work Experience: 1-2 years
Mechanically inclined
Knowledge: Ability to fabricate without drawings; additional certifications: Forklift Operator and Crane/Rigging; basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
