Treasury Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Treasury Accountant to join our Finance team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Manager, Treasury Services, you will provide support in all aspects of cash management, corporate banking, and payment processing. Partnering with the other Treasury Accountant within the team, this position will be instrumental in the areas of payment management, reviewing, analyzing, and preparing financial information, reconciling bank inflows and outflows and administration and maintenance of all bank accounts, and signing authorities.
You will be responsible for:

• Reconciling bank inflows and outflows and processing of CAD and USD cash applications.
• Monitoring cheque fraud protection and updating foreign exchanges rates daily.
• Daily Cash Position reporting.
• Verifying entries for accuracy; researching and processing variances and posting of all exception entries.
• Verifying payment files are received and processed by the bank and making corrections as needed.
• Preparing and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly cash forecasts.
• Processing all wire and manual ACH payments and stop payments.
• Updating FX rates weekly.
• Preparing documentation for new bank account requests to various financial institutions.
• Maintaining internal treasury policies and procedures to ensure information is up to date.
• Analyzing bank and payment processing fees.
• Record keeping and journalizing of FX Spot and hedge transactions.
• Facilitating the flow of funds between related parties.
• Assisting with KYC documentation for various banks and financial institutions.
• Assisting with insurance cost allocation, budgeting, and account reconciliations.
• Preparing journals.
• Assisting with ad hoc projects/assignments as needed.

• A diploma or degree in accounting or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting related support role.
• All pre-requisites completed to enroll in the CPA program - Enrollment in the CPA program is an asset.
• Experience evaluating current policies and procedures and implementing new practices to drive efficiencies and controls.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to utilize technology to automate processes.

• Organized with solid time management skills, and an ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks while working independently.
• An excellent communicator, both written and verbal with the ability to draft clear and concise written communications.
• An analytical problem solver with decision-making skills and the ability to develop creative and strategic solutions to issues.
• Able to build relationships and have excellent people skills.
