Duties and Responsibilities- Assembling high-pressure tubing and electro-mechanical process control components (such as valves and fittings)
- Fabricating brackets, stands and other custom-designed metal components
- Safely conducting pressure and leak testing of completed assemblies
- Testing supplied components for quality and conformance
- Completing production records such as inspection test reports, material traceability logs, and as-built assembly drawings
- Receiving and maintaining component inventory and shop supplies
- Preparing equipment for shipment
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Post-secondary technical education
- Able to read mechanical drawings
- Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to process and detail
- Experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with pipefitting and/or compression fittings
- Experience in steel fabrication techniques (welding, machining, forming, cutting, grinding, etc.)
- Working with pressurized gases or fluids, hydrogen in particular
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Good knowledge of safety and WHMIS regulations
