As part of our Ministry team, the Senior Day Camp Leader role provides a unique opportunity to connect directly with campers, modeling the love of Jesus. This role primarily involves maintaining excellent care for campers, leading activity areas, and ministering to campers in a spiritual manner.
While senior leaders are preferably over 18, and junior leaders are preferably 16 or older, age alone does not determine the position. Positions may be based on the applicant's ability to mentor other leaders, lead devotions, and experience with children. All applicants should be open to loving guidance and feedback for personal growth. The final decision will be made through interviews or references.
Responsibilities Include:
Ensure the well-being of up to 8 campers during the day, as well as attending evening meetings, and supporting evening overnight camp activities.
Minister to campers spiritually, leading devotionals and facilitating one-on-one conversations to encourage a lasting relationship with Christ.
Remind campers of daily essentials and adjust activities to suit their needs.
Provide mentorship and support to other Seasonal Staff members, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
Attend and participate in all staff devotionals, fireside times, and evening events.
Lead activity areas, providing a safe environment for skill acquisition and fostering creativity in campers.
Uphold Camp Chestermere policies and procedures, including those related to camper disclosures, incident reports, and health.
Actively participate in the Camp Chestermere community, attending required meetings and events.
Obtain a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check within the last three years for employment (for those over 18 years old).
Although Day Camp and Overnight positions are posted separately, leaders may be asked to help out in the other stream based on camp needs, unless specific arrangements are made with the leadership team.
