AltaGas - Specialist, Rotating Equipment

Reporting to the Lead of Rotating Equipment, this position is responsible for providing innovative technical support for field operations. This position will be based out of Calgary with travel expectations to our midstream facilities.

You Will:

• Assist the Asset Management Team in developing maintenance, repair, and operation procedures for Rotating Equipment providing lessons learned and field observations

• Perform regular site visits and unit inspections

• Develop close working relationships with Operations Leadership, Subject Matter Experts, Discipline Engineers, and Maintenance Leads

• Provide technical oversight for repairs on all rotating equipment that includes but not limited to reciprocating/centrifugal pumps, reciprocal/centrifugal/screw compressors, gas turbines, turbo expanders, gearboxes, generators, gas engines, and related auxiliaries

• Provide technical oversight for Start-up and Commissioning of new equipment

• Provide Technical support to area Maintenance Leads and Area Operation Supervisors

• Assist area maintenance leads with vendor selection for technical services

• Assist with vendor cost control on mechanical bids and repairs for AltaGas equipment

• Review and enforce equipment warranties

• Attend regular maintenance meetings with area maintenance leads

• Adhere to AltaGas' standards of safety

You Have:

• Ten years experience in repair/maintenance in gas compression with engine, compressor, motor, generator, and pumps

• Red Seal trade certification in Heavy Equipment Technician or Millwright

• Well established network with equipment vendors

• Extensive knowledge of various OEM maintenance and repair proceedures of equipment used in Gas Compression and Power Generation Industry

• Experience with Caterpillar, Waukesha, Gas Turbines, TEX, Fluid Pumps, Recip / Screw / Centrifical compressors

• Familiar with Maximo or related maintenance system

• Start up/Commissioning experience is an asset

• Experience with equipment failure analysis, oil analysis, and vibration analysis is an asset

• Experience with Rotating Equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis

• Communication, reporting, various computer skills, work well with others and unsupervised, leadership skills

• Clean drivers abstract

• Ability to travel to all AltaGas Locations when required including to the United States
