Our Development team is responsible for strategic projects, policy and advocacy, as well as enterprise, network and supply chain strategy.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Government and Industry Relations, the Senior Advisor Government and Industry Relations will be responsible for developing and supporting strategic engagement plans and driving advocacy to build and protect ARTC's reputation, whilst aiming to support the company's ambition to drive growth of freight on rail.
The role will support ARTC's efforts to implement business outcomes, in line with our business strategy that position ARTC as a leader in rail and freight.
The Senior Advisor Government and Industry Relations will drive marketing and advocacy outcomes, in addition to supporting ARTC's engagements across government, and ongoing activities such as Senate Estimates.
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience working in government or government relations, corporate affairs or a related discipline and strong understanding of the local, state, and federal political landscape around Australia.
- Ability to quickly understand complex issues, their intersection between business strategy and the external environment, and you are able to effectively communicate to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to persuasively articulate an organisations advocacy position via government submissions, briefing papers, presentations or direct engagement.
- Ability to provide sound, strategic advice, as well as execute tactical tasks.
- Experience working with government, industry partners and a broad set of external stakeholders.
- B2B and key marketing experience to help drive business outcomes in line with business strategy.
- Communications, public affairs and marketing.
