About the opportunity
Due to an internal secondment, our Corporate Secretary & Board team has a fixed term vacancy available.
The team ensures governance obligations and commitments are brought to life in the Australia Post Group and integrated with the Group's system of internal controls.
We have a particular emphasis on enabling our Board and Executives to meet expectations and set the right tone from the top to demonstrate our values and ensure decisions are exercised by the right people.
What you'll deliver with us You will be supporting the Head of Governance in maintaining and uplifting a robust framework to ensure Australia Post and its subsidiaries comply with regulatory governance requirements and principles of good governance.
You will also be supporting the effective and efficient information flow within subsidiary boards, and with and between subsidiary boards and management.
You'll also be involved with
- Supporting the subsidiary board meeting processes including drafting agendas, minutes, and preparing meeting packs and papers
- Implementing and monitoring appropriate delegations of authority for subsidiaries
- Maintaining accurate company and officeholder records and registers, including digitising, archiving and document retention
- Implementing changes to the corporate entity structure
- The design and ongoing maintenance of the subsidiary governance framework
- Developing online compliance learning on the regulatory governance framework
• - Providing governance advice and research on strategic initiatives or projects
• Australia Post's regulatory governance framework includes the Public Governance, Performance, and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), the Public Governance, Performance, and Accountability Rule 2014, (PGPA Rule), PGPA-associated instruments and policies, Resource Management Guides issued by the Department of Finance (particularly the GBE Guidelines), Commercial Freedoms Framework, Statement of Expectations, the Australian Postal Corporation Act 1989 (APC Act) and regulations made under the APC Act.
About you
- Corporate secretarial experience (preferred) and relevant professional qualifications in governance, business, or law (preferred)
- Functional knowledge of, and experience with, implementing governance or compliance frameworks
- Proven ability to build and maintain senior relationships in multiple complex environments
- Demonstrated experience in simplifying concepts, improving processes and implementing change
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and a strong eye for detail
