This newly created role provides an exciting opportunity to lead the establishment of a health intelligence unit in north Queensland. This unit will be instrumental in informing to inform priority actions and advocacy efforts to achieve equitable access to health services and health outcomes for all North Queenslanders, as well as and supporting the data intelligence capacity across a number of organisations.
The focus of the unit will be informed through collaboration with the strategic leadership of Better Health NQ and key partners, building on the work of the Joint Regional Needs Assessment process.
The position offers flexible remote working and the potential opportunity for a contract extension based on successful implementation and demonstrated value add to the organisations contributing to the position.
The Better Health NQ team is seeking applications for an Intelligence Unit Manager to join their team on a temporary basis.
This exciting opportunity to establish a health intelligence unit in north Queensland has arisen to inform actions to achieve equity in access to health services and health outcomes for all North Queenslanders.
The work of the unit will be informed through close working with the six Chief Executives who form the membership of Better Health NQ and will build on the work of the Joint Regional Needs Assessment process.
The position will enjoy flexible remote working with the opportunity for a contract extension based on successful implementation and demonstrated value add to the organisations contributing to the position.

About the Team
The core membership of Better Health NQ consists of the Chief Executives of the five North Queensland Hospital and Health Services (Mackay HHS, Townsville HHS, Cairns and Hinterland HHS, North West HHS and Torres and Cape HHS), and the Chief Executive Officer of Northern Queensland Primary Health Network. The membership and their respective organisations work together to progress equity of access to health services and health outcomes for all North Queenslanders.
The shared purpose of Better Health NQ is to advocate collectively for the unique health and service needs of North Queensland, and together with the System Managers (Queensland Department of Health) and the Commonwealth Government, collaborate in initiatives that deliver region-wide benefits.
About our Hospital and Health Service
Mackay Hospital and Health Service ( ) has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
