POSITION SUMMARY:
The Diagnostic Imaging Tech Assistant performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient-related functions. The Tech Assistant is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services, such as: exam review, preparation for the exam, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, patient transporting, beginning and ending of exams and managing phone calls.
The Tech Assistant may be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and/or clinical services per operational needs.
Assists patients of all ages by transporting them to and from the Imaging department as directed in a friendly, professional and ethical manner. When not transporting; assists the technologist by preparing the exam room and completing exam paperwork. Reviews lab values and documents values for Technologist review.
