If the Common, High or unified school district provides instruction to k-12 students on Character education, then each district must adopt its own course of study for each grade. At a minimum the program must include: instruction and application of at least 6 of the following traits: truthfulness, responsibility, compassion, diligence, sincerity, trustworthiness, respect, attentiveness, obedience, orderliness, forgiveness, virtue, fairness, caring, citizenship and integrity.
