Addiction Medicine APP- Charming

Beaufort Memorial Hospital (BMH), in partnership with The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), is seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to work in addiction medicine in charming Beaufort, South Carolina.
The chosen candidate will work in an ambulatory clinic that is focused specifically on the treatment of substance abuse disorders, primarily, but not limited to, opiate use disorder and alcohol use disorder.
They will also handle the medical management of other substance use disorders, and coordination of care with community partners, counselors, etc.
There may be opportunities to teach both staff and community stakeholders, if interested.
In this role, the APP will:
Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' medical, physical and psychological status, including taking histories, and performing physical examinations and drug screeningsDevelop treatment plans individualized to the patient's needs, recording notes in the patient s chartImplement physician-directed treatment plans, writing orders for medications, treatments, and testsUnder the direction of a physician, perform minor procedures for which they have exhibited competenciesObtain physician consultations when a diagnosis is outside of their area of expertiseOpportunity to provide education and training on addiction disorders and related medical concerns to clinical staff in the offices, if interested JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
If a Physician Assistant:
Bachelor s Degree required; Successful completion of a CAAHEP approved programIf a Nurse Practitioner:
Masters or Doctorate Degree in Nursing; Graduate of an approved NLN or equivalent nursing program EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years work experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a substance use disorder ambulatory clinic, and familiarity with x-waiver, and Buprenorphine therapy preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Must have/maintain current SC PA licensureIf a Nurse Practitioner:
