We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Tech to join our team. This position compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals
- Assays medications to determine identity, purity and strength
- Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients
- Directs pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals
- Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system and inventory
- Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste drugs
- Reviews prescriptions issued by physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Background investigation (company-wide)
- Drug screen ( when applicable for the position )
- Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
- Pharmacy License, required
- One year of related work experience, preferred
- Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
- Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
- Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
- Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
- Multi-task along with attention to detail
- Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Lift and carry office equipment at times around the office
- Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and listening
- Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
- Email transmission and communication
- Internet navigation and research
- Microsoft applications; Word and Excel
