We are seeking a highly skilled Crop Insurance Specialist with extensive experience in mapping farm tracts and fields for Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) insurance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crop insurance, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and precision agriculture technology.
They will be responsible for accurately mapping farm tracts and fields, analyzing spatial data, and ensuring compliance with PRF insurance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize GIS software to create detailed maps of farm tracts and fields.Collect and analyze spatial data to support PRF insurance applications.Ensure compliance with USDA PRF insurance mapping requirements.Collaborate with farmers and ranchers to gather necessary information and provide technical assistance.Maintain accurate records and documentation for all mapped areas.Stay updated with industry standards and technological advancements in GIS and crop insurance.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and precision agriculture tools.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with USDA crop insurance programs.Bachelor s degree in Agriculture, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field.Knowledge of precision agriculture technologies and practices.Certification in GIS or related field.
Salary:
50,000-100,000 (dependent on experience)
